Britannia metal was an alloy of atrimony, tin and copper which was used as a base for some items that were electroplated with silver. It was developed in the early C19 by pewters in response to the competition from the newly emerging glass, tin and ceramic
manufactures.

vintage or antique silverplate/etc. for swap

Here are some things that my grandmother gave me... they aren't family heirlooms, but items from her antique store that she used to have.

the markings are on the bottoms about what they are made of and the makers and all that.

i will be putting them for auction later but i thought i would let people have a look here, first.
